birthday gifts

Here are some lovely things I got for my 18th birthday last month.

A necklace and a magnet from Christina, made by a local artist. She left it in my locker at school, a very pleasant surprise on a tired morning!

Tales from Arabian Nights and a Tom Robbins book I received in the mail from friends far away. My mom found the old Art Nouveau Brownie camera for me. I makes a nice bookstand, I don't think I'll try to make it work. Here are some brass trinkets on top of my bookcase while I'm at it...

Incense brought back from India, lavender from Halifax and I think the fly may be from England.

I'm in one fine arts course course this year, fundamentals of drawing. Here is part of a charcoal drawing I did last week. I love this shirt now, as long as I never have to draw it again.
